The department of ECE celebrated and observed Engineer’s Day in India on September 15, 2016 at the college premises, commemorating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir MokshagundamVisvesvaraya. The event was graced by the presence of our Principal Dr.M. VetrivelSezhian who spoke to the students about how the concept of engineering came into being.
Visvesvaraya played many parts in his life and the day of this year is marked as the 48th Engineers Day in remembrance of his achievements and spirit of progress. Being a scholar, statesman, educationist, and perhaps the most celebrated as India’s greatest engineer of all times, was the embodiment of everything a country needs to strive for a better future. He was internationally recognized for his genius in harnessing water resources, successful design and construction of several river dams, bridges and implement irrigation and drinking water schemes all over India. Even though the engineers rule the world, we all should make a promise to ourselves that we use our knowledge, intelligence for the welfare of the society and mankind.
